Öko-Bilanz Nespresso
Ich habe das Müllargument bei Nespresso hinterfragt und etwas dazu gerechnet. Das Argument ist, dass die Kapseln aus Aluminium sehr energieaufwändig produziert werden müssen. Natürlich ist Aluminiumgewinnung grundsätzlich ökologisch problematisch, ich möchte mich hier jedoch nur auf den Energieaufwand konzentrieren. Für Aluminium spricht hingegen eine exzellente Recyclebarkeit.
Angenommen, für 1 kg Aluminium braucht man 16 kWh Energie zur Produktion aus Bauxit. Gewinnt man das Aluminium durch Recycling, reduziert sich dieser Bedarf auf 0,8 kWh. Eine Nespressokapsel enthält etwa 1 g Aluminium. Damit braucht man für eine Kapsel aus neu gewonnenem Aluminium 16 Wh, beim Recycling 0,8 Wh.
Mit Motorenbenzin mit einem Heizwert von 15,5 kWh/l brauche ich dann etwa 1 ml Benzin für eine Kapsel (neues Aluminium) bzw. 0,05 ml (Recycling). Natürlich nimmt man in Aluminiumwerken kein Motorenbenzin, aber das ist für die Energiebilanz und auch die CO2-Bilanz unerheblich.
Ein Auto mit einem Verbrauch von etwa 7 l/100 km könnte also für eine Nespresso Kapsel ca. 15 cm (neues Aluminium) bzw. ca. 7 mm (Recycling) weit fahren.
Für mich ist ein Kapselverbrauch von ca. 2 Kapseln pro Tag realistisch. Damit hat ein Auto nach einer Fahrtstrecke von 108 m (neues Aluminium) bzw. 5 m (Recycling) mehr Energie verbraucht und damit mehr CO2 ausgeschieden als ich durch ein Jahr Nespresso-Kaffee. Das nur mal so, um die Problematik quantitativ einzuordnen.
